About
History of the Beecher Fire Department and the Beecher Fire Protection District. A committee was appointed by the Village Board on June 20, 1884 to form the nucleus of what is now know as the Beecher Fire Protection District. The first fire company was formed in January 1887 with Henry Hack as the fire marshal. The fire company consisted of 24 volunteers. The village purchased a fire engine hand pump and hose cart with 500 feet of hose, which is now in the Washington Township Museum. The first fire station was on the east side of Gould Street between Penfield and Indiana. Money was raised for the equipment by hosting the first Firemen
