The HSOTC has the designation of a limited intake/no-kill shelter where animals are only euthanized if they are too sick to be treated or too aggressive to be suitable for adoption. The no-kill shelter designation rejects euthanasia as a means of population control and instead works toward reducing the number of animals born through increased spay and neuter programs including low-cost/free help for low income people. We provide a safe haven for animals in transition, serve as advocates for animals and their people, work to end animal overpopulation and educate the public about compassion and responsibility towards all animals.
